I am well aware that the games launch races are set in stone, what I am hoping is that Larian consider this race alongside others as race additions as post game content that is Free to players. I am well aware Asimar are not very popular by players, and the setting here may or may not make sense. However I'd say half orcs and drow and tieflings can make the lore check somehow, then a celestial who is born from an angel or devil who comes to BG to protect humanity or destroy , may fit well as well, even more so as a foil to durge.

Primarily subclasses: Protector, Scourge and Fallen

Story of your character: an angel was traveling to Baulders gate to bless the child of the new born monarch, or to read a powerful prayer on BG after what happened in the trailer. The angel was forbidden to directly intervene in moral events to avoid the ending of the blood war. The angel chose to sire a child in secret to protect BG, with a powerful cleric. You just turned 13, (this race means you play as a kid), and are traveling to recieve your training (pick tag where you where going to study). You are attacked and caught by the mindflayers and are imprisoned [protector and Scourage]

For fallen asaimar, you are a unknown child of Zarial. Before Zarial fell, but after she became corrupted. You look somewhat like a tiefling mixed with Aisamar. You have black red eyes, and skin as silver as snow, with two large horns on your head. Your mother sends you to kill Karlach, but you are captured as you leave avernus and implanted with a parasite. This whipes Zarial direct control over you, and allows you to become you own person if you keep it.

Aside from the fact that there was several topics about races ...
And we allready have FULL LIST of races that will be released ... so this is also kinda late ...

I would like to express my utter despite over idea that picking a race should force us some story!
Thats worse idea since ripped bread. :-/

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

All 3 of those are PHB races, even Drow which is listed as an elf subrace.

There's... a lot to unpack here, huh. Either way Larian hasn't ever done DLCs or expansions, so I wouldn't count on it. You might get a mod that allows some version of Aasimar, though.

There's plenty of races and subraces already added by mods (like genassi) but they don't have the reactivity that official races/subraces have, that's the downside.

I know they did some DLC's for DOS2 but I haven't played them so I'm not sure what the content is (but I believe is not that much)

''They don't have plans right now'' is what Sven said but he also said they are waiting to see how the game does (same as WotC I would assume) and then they'll see what happens. I don't see how if the game does good (and probably will) WotC is not gonna try and make more money with BG3.

Half the work is already done by Larian for Modders to use

There are at least three freak races that shouldn't be in the game - and you want more?

Strange comment on a fantasy game forum.

I second this, we barely scratched the surface of D&D races.
