Crossing my fingers that will be the case. In the mean time, I will be playing via GeForce Now. That being said, I really appreciate Larian supporting Mac gaming

Does anyone know why on Steam it shows the MacOS for the game, is it not actually on Steam? I was going to purchase it over the weekend because it seems that its a MacOS version for Steam, but from reading various forums it seems that its actually misleading.

As far i know the Mac-Version on Steam is still the EA.

That's the case on GOG as well. Still waiting for it: On a Larian update post I saw the MacOS version "To be confirmed" alongside with PS5, I never read any confirmation... soooo... I guess it might not be tomorrow.

Would love to see some communication about the MacOs version too. I wasn't planning on playing it on my PC and I'd love to be able to play on a silent macbook instead like I planned to. Any amount of communication would be good... I see some people mentioned the 6th but the only mention of this I found was from articles that seemed to take a guess more than anything else. Was there anything said by Larian that I missed?

I mean, its only a game. Who cares if its release on mac on September 6th or in late October. Nobody gets hurt if it comes later. But maaaaan, i would like to play this thing so hard...

There's an absolute lack of communication relating the definitive release date of the MacOs Version.

One is tempted to think that company A has sponsored company L into an NDA.

So that company A can have its grand moment.
During an important event for company A on September, 12th they can proudly announce that Baldur's Gate 3 is available for MacOs right now.

Wow! Never thought about this, but you can be right. That's absolutely possible. But okay, if so, I can wait a few more days to give them this audience. For the honor, the visibility, the pushed sales/money (of course) and the chance to promote the Mac as a gaming platform.

I really hope that this is the reason.
The only other logical reason would be that they don't give a s##t about the Mac community.
Imagine the reaction of the PC gamer community, if Larian had communicated the same way about the release of the PC Version.
One and a half hour before potential release and absolute no info if it will happen or not.
Simply nothing. That's pathetic !

This is a great perspective since today is the day it was alleged to be released and hasn't still, and would seem right up the alley of company A before their big event in the very near future!

Yesterday (6 September 2023), Larian posted on its website that:

"An official Mac release is planned for later this month – more details to follow."

+1 in this thread as well.

Love the "more details to follow", even better would be details... following...
