I'd play a mod that changes Gale to a corpse. He's the only companion that I straight up don't like, I'm 100% killing him on a Durge playthrough.

I have never installed a Mod on any video game. I have been tempted to install player created quests for Neverwinter nights, however I'm a Scaredy Cat as I am ignorant in the ways of code and techy things, I'm afraid to catch a virus or something or another

DRAGON FIRE-AND DOOM Dragons? Splendid things, lad-so long as ye look upon them only in tapestries, or in the masks worn at revels, or from about three realms off...

Why instead, when we have aswell! laugh >:]

Im thinking ... is there any companion (except Lae'zel ... and maybe Jaheira with Minsc) that cant really be Gnomes? Or ... basicaly any other race?

Maybe Wyll in his new version would cause some trouble. :-/
After all,
there is no model of Gnome-Tiefling laugh

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

NWN modules are pretty safe, they are essentially fanmade expansions/DLCs. The actual mods in the classic sense are the .hak files, that contain new models, textures, 2da files, etc.
If you're still interested in NWN, there are several incredibly well-made modules for it.

It took me years to finally install a mod for NWN 2, but I'm glad I did. There were some excellent adventure mods that were made for that game.

I've also relied on mods for Troika's Temple of Elemental Evil game, but I think most folks would argue that those were absolutely needed to play the game.

I probably won't install a mod for BG3 until I've exhausted as many playthroughs as I can.

I embrace people for their personality. Race is a detail.

Gale is not bad but personally, I liked Wyll a bit more as a companion. Being the RP-er I am, there was no way I could leave a ticking bomb unattended. So indeed, Gale was aboard most of the time. He is also easy to please: just toss him a few artifacts.

That being said, I might really challenge myself on my blind run... and he might be one of the victims of my character's dark urges. I will try to save most of the other companions, though. Sorry, Gale. I wonder if you can meet him later in the game despite the mutilation...

The best part of this thread is that race swapping gale makes about as much sense as race swapping Lae'zel.

Mystra only like humans dudes from what I recall.

Dwarfstairion would be interesting, however can you imagine a mod that turns our vampire boy and Gale into geese, where all the magical artifacts are replaced by magical bread?

I would much rather have mods add a unique Gnome companion or add personality / dialogue to an existing gnome hireling.

Gale the "community college custodian" and Astarian "the kinky vampire" dies, ASAP.
I dislike both.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..

Likewise.

I do like gnomes more often than not (the only standard short race I don't like is halflings--sorry, halfling fans!), but I can't understand the appeal of mods that drastically change established characters. Minor cosmetic changes are fine, but there's a pretty wide chasm between, for example, changing a hair style and changing race entirely. However, mods changing the hirelings' races would be awesome (given that these are not established characters), if it does indeed turn out that Larian arbitrarily restricted such customization of them in-game. Off-topic, but if that really is the case, I'd really like to see them try to justify such a ridiculous decision.

Technically also off-topic: I'd love for Barcus to be an actual companion and not just a camp follower! Even just one shorty would add much-needed visual diversity to the party silhouette. Adding a couple of tall, buff dudes doesn't quite accomplish that, even though I am looking forward to said tall, buff dudes.

I don't feel a desire to change him as a companion, if someone releases a mod that allows you to customise the other origins when playing them like The Dark Urge does (perhaps with more limitations) and does a good job with any animation issues, then I'd install that. I'm not going to play as the other origins if I can't "make them my own" so to speak.
