So I get that switching Characters mid conversation is too much work, but right now, There is a decent chance that multiple times in Act 1 alone, I'm finishing a fight and a conversation is initiated right away with a frontliner like Lae'zel instead of my Tav. I'm here to RP as my Character and this system robs me of the opportunity to do so in certain moments.
please Larian, this needs to be fixed.

Does this still happen? I was pretty sure it was fixed some time ago, don't really remember the last time a companion got the lead in a conversation, so maybe I was just lucky.
if that is the case yeah, this needs to be fixed.

please Larian, this needs to be fixed. Is your main character at the top? That is to say, left side if screen, is your main the top most portrait. As long as it is, you really shouldnt be running into this problem.
"They say he who smelt it dealt it." Sooo technically... this burnt corpse is your fault officer."

please Larian, this needs to be fixed. I can't agree more! It doesn't solve every possible problem, but it's a great idea nonetheless.
... because it's fun!

There is function in menu, where you can set that controlls will allways return to your character after combat ... sadly, it dont work perfectly.
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

Yup, having Lae-zael jump into being the party's face is ... subpar. Her MAD People Skills and Ugly Mug are well reflected in her CHA 8 :P

I do not see them putting this in though we just have to be careful.

There is also another problem ... Yesterday i decided to reload my final battle in Grymforce out of the blue ... and as i saved Nere, the conversation grabed Astarion who for some unknown reason decided to run in front of my character as i was throwing the bomb at debris. So ... in order to follow Astarions character, and not really caring about the outcome at the moment, i decided to "not say a thing" and let Nere to kill all Gnomes.
I was quite surprised when my Tav got "disaprooves" from whole rest of the party!!!

I do not see them putting this in though we just have to be careful. If they don’t fix it, I will be booking it to the front with my sorcerer so martials don’t steal my dialogue.😂

This (lack of a) feature, combined with the annoying quirks of the dialogue system for multiplayer, might be a deal-breaker for me. I might hold off on seriously playing (maybe just multiplayer) until a mod is released that improves the BG3 dialogue experience.
Over the course of 100+ hours, I don't want to be constantly annoyed by having the worst or second-worst character chosen for dialogue while the rest of the party members just stand there silently in the background. D&D is a party-based system where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts; it's disappointing that Larian didn't think this was high enough of a priority to implement.

I agree. This is a frustrating issue when it crops up, and it was also present in DOS2 (not the only issue BG3 inherited from it, so ultimately not surprising). If Larian can't figure out how to add a designated party face option, or just don't want to do it (hopefully not the latter; it'd be a real bad look), then maybe mod makers can pick up the slack again. There's kind of a lot of slack to pick up, but it's worth the effort.
