Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - General Controller support ready by Aug 3rd?

I have a steam deck and I'm contemplating taking time off work to play on release day. But there's no reason to request the leave if the game doesn't have controller support on release. (I've played the EA and used a decent layout, but I found quite a few things that were too tedious or downright impossible to do like right clicking and selling lots of things at the same time, cancelling actions in a battle etc. )

Does anyone know if Larian has announced that they'll have controller support on the release day? If not, I'll save my leave and take it when the game releases with controller support.

Yes, when you play on PC, you have full controller support. This has been confirmed very recently by several different people who contacted Larian support. I will be playing it with xbox controller. I also have ps5 controller, but I think it sucks bear balls.

Thx! So far, I haven't managed to see anyone using a controller. (Somehow I missed it on the last PfH) I don't own a PC, so my steam deck and the built in controller are all I've got.

Swen said that Steam deck support is not guaranteed on Aug 3rd. He doesn't know yet. I was talking only about PC controller support.

As Potatoo mentioned in a very recent interview Sven said that they are not sure if if the game will manage to support Steamdeck on Aug 3rd - it shouldn’t be too long off either way.
