I have just moved the BG3 game (Installed Files) from my D: drive to my C: drive (as my C: drive is the SSD). However, when I look up the game under properties is still says "Size of installation: 79.22 GB on DATA (D:). Do I have a problem?
yes you have a problem but its fixable is you have Steam or Gog Galaxy install then run the verify then assuming Windows restart the system i.e, the actual computer and see it if runs the game after it reboots

1. I moved the game's contents to the C: drive using "Move Install Folder" button found under the Installed Files section of BG3 via the Steam App. Note: It still says that the size of Installation is 79GB on Data (D:). I have found this file. It is found under the following pathway D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common Similar Files exist for other games such as BG, BG2 etc. So clearly I have been saving my Steam games to the D: drive (which makes sense as this is where I have the space)
Question: can I just move the Baldurs Gate 3 file from the D: drive to a location on the C: drive (the C: drive now being an upgraded SSD)?
I should add, the following C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam file can also be found on my C: drive. So I think I accessing the game using both drives.
ok step 1 = watch this vid to get the correct way to move installed Steam games =
i know you say you have already done it but its better to know the correct way in case you missed any steps
step 2 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam file" is the default location of Steam i.e, the actual app
yes you can move it - instructions are here https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/4BD4-4528-6B2E-8327 however they say to deleate the files and allow Steam to rebuild them, which is not a great idea unless you 1st copy paste the folders to a safe location for backups before starting
assuming when you moved the game did you make a Steam folder 1st then; 1 you started installing the game to the old location as well 2 you have some mods installed that still point to the old location 3 one of these storage locations is a USB controlled drive and thats bad because they drop in and out or you just moved the files incorrectly
the good news is that reguardless of how you got here , things can still be fixed, simply watch the vid, make a new Steam folder and move the game files [one or all] to the new location and then open Steam to comfirm it knows where the new game files are

Ok. This has transferred most of my Steam games from the D: drive to the C: drive with two exceptions. One is BG which it says needs to be updated beforehand. The other, more importantly is BG3 which it says "Moving content for the following apps has failed: - Baldur's Gate 3: folder already exists"
BG will be because its linked to a storage drive that locks files... i'd check to see if the Documents for BG1/2 are in Onedrive?
BG3 already exists = you do indeed have two copies of the game [or you have two accounts?]... there are only 6 days remaining until full build goes live... personally i'd uninstall BG3 and physically remove the two BG3 folders from your system, then either install the EA build again or just wait the week but to a fresh location so i know the old messed up files are fully gone
