Hello--

I was just wondering when it is proper to use the "General" forum and when to use the "tip & tricks" one? It seems I see spoiler type questions in both...and I can't really get a good feel for the distinction.

thanks,
b

What you see is that we failed.

We tried to keep a proper distinction between these areas, but we failed.

People even began to chat in the "About this website" are.

he's right, there is no real difference.
I cant blame them, the sections dont make perfectly clear whats to be done in them.
As i see it, its perfectly fine to post questions in the general and help sections, it will be answered anyway <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I reckon there should just be the DD game and technical sections. No need to have a seperate tips section.
Like the chat sections though... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well, that's a rather harsh way to put it. These are LOVELY boards. Functionally some of the best boards I've ever seen. And the most important thing about any board is building a sense of community..and you were obviously quite successful in that respect. As jvb stated, wherever anyone asks a question, it seems to be answered rather quickly.

Thanks,
B

Yeah, we're all 'mostly' friendly here. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I try to help, but somehow I'm visiting this Board not so often as I did in the past; I don't know why.

But still it is my "Home-Board". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

You're right.
That was harsh.
This is a pretty new forum. "We moved" here from the older forum not long ago. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Ppl ware very anxious and posted a lot all over the forum. -That's what Alrik ment.
Some started complaining and stated everyone should post in the right topics ofcourse. Sometimes a bit pushing it to far, almost turning it into some kind of crusade. On the other hand, some posted to much not topic related things in the help sections of the forum. And that is anoying for ppl who look for answers.
But like I expected it all calmed down after we got to know "our new forum" a little better.
I even think that little tention was good for all and kinda a way of finding out where the "borders" are. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

About your question,
You can post in general as well in the help part. They both are about "things" in/related to <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />
It's hard to draw a line between those.

And thank you for the compliment. The majority of regular posters here is indeed a good bunch who means well.
And in the general and help part you'll find some really dedicated ppl who'll answer all questions about <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />.
