My goodness, then why is Fextralife playing early access on Twitter right now instead of breaking the embargo?!?!?!?!

BREAK THE EMBARGO! FREE THE NIPPLE! I mean... wait, which thread am I in?

Here are a bunch of facts I do not like when put together:

-Review codes are still late.
-There will be insufficient time for reviewers to reach the back half of the game before release.
-The back half of DOS2 was BY FAR weaker than the front half.
-The back half of DOS2 incorporated BY FAR less feedback than the front half.
-BG3's release date was moved up a month early.
-Cyberpunk 2077 and other fake-outs had tight review-release schedules.

Is the game REALLY done?

I'm not concerned either way because

a) I already bought the game, no backing out now
b) reviewers are notorious for bandwangon and/or rushed judgements. If there are large flaws in the game, we're not going to know it until it's too late either way.

Reviewers are all lies as they need to maintain a positive attitude or they do not eat, do not make money and do not recieve that attention that they all crave constantly. Quite sad really. On the topic of reviewers doing a bad job, has to do with the fact good articles do not provide equally on a time/effort basis as guides that release first (as a result get 100X traffic).

There is a reason react content is so popular on YouTube and Twitch for the same reason. It takes no effort to run your mouth and smile, it's very hard to create meaningful and helpful content.

I don’t expect any maliciousness from Larian as far as review codes go. It is understandable why they decided to get out of the way of Starfield and Armored Core6. That they have PC version ready that much in advance is a good sign to me x though I am sure they could and will spend more time patching and polishing the game.

I am not terribly concerned about the reviews - for one I already made a decision to buy the game, and in general I don’t trust reviews when it comes to RPGs - it is a genre that reveals itself over time over multiple playthroughs. Reviews tend to favour “one playthrough” RPGs (Outer Worlds, Witcher3, Mass Effects), which while fine, but those are much less appealing to me. The best thing review could say, is the technical state of the game, but I will be able to judge it myself.

Ive bought the game, base and CE. I dont need reviewers to tell me what to do.
But ill accept info about how they implemented spells, feats, classes, BM manoeuvres etc to start planning by part build.
Not sure when the embargo ends for the reviewers.

Given that it takes several hundred hours to get anywhere in BG3, there isn't much point in having anyone rush out a review. It can't possibly be accurate because they haven't had time to play.

idk, in my opinion, you'd think you'd want reviewers to have as long as possible before release to play the game, so having late review codes is a big no no. The embargo is eh, companies seem to do that as normal now, as much as I don't agree with it. I hate conditional reviewing. I think it's scummy.

Because every reviewer wants to publish theirs first. Embargo gives everyone enough time to actually play the game, and prevent half baked reviews.

Not with a game of this size. BG3 is 75 hours of story for one play through. To comment on it properly you need a run for each spectrum good evil, lawful, and chaotic. That at minimum is 2 runs which is 150 hours.

We have 4 days left, 5 if it went out on the 28th as it would take 6 hours to download the 158gb. Even if you played 12 hours a day for 4 days, you would be at 50/75 hours. We would get no feedback on act 3, which would have a million issues like dos2. Assuming they actually play it and not copy ideas of some small creator no one knows 1:1 with plagiarism
