I wonder what that last minute crisis is, shame they didn't ask about that. I think that would've been the useful/interesting thing to ask.

Crisis doesn't sound minor.

I doubt he would be at liberty to say.

Keep in mind the podcast is prerecorded and especially review itself could have been recorded some time ago. As far as we know the crisis might have been resolved by now.

Edit. Recent PfH and BBC article are referenced so interview was made within the last week.

Sven seems like a great guy. I think he has a true craftsman's spirit for whom their craft is both the reason and the goal. I also like that he is benchmarking gaming trends based on the technical opportunities in the industry, not by some pseudo-objective values of the time and stuff. Basically 'You are only limited by the cutting edge of technology, so make whatever you want, and if there are enough gamers out there who want exactly the same - then you'll have a great success, together!'.

I wonder who cuts their hair? Shadowheart or Lae’zel?

I was just in the middle of watching this.
Also, yay for reactions.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

If anyone would be at liberty to say, it has to be Swen I guess.
But asking the question for follow up would've given him the opportunity to either say "nothing that'll impact release negatively" or "we have troubles and release might be in danger", without going into details at all.
Either way, the question is what I'd have expected, even if Swen wouldn't answer.

Probably XBOX is the most interesting bit. For the most part the interview is covering stuff most folks here would be familiar with already.

It seems XBOX might be still quite some time off. They are not even committing to releasing on XBOX, but are actively developing for it. Sven hopes they will be able to releases this year, but they might have to work on it longer.

Thanks for posting this, @Wormerine. I have very diligently watched every single Swen interview since the game was announced four years ago, and this was arguably his best effort. Unlike in other interviews where he often came across as pushing canned talking points, here he seemed to speak in a completely honest and open and forthright way where I could actually believe his words. I really liked a lot of what he had to say, including especially his pushing back against his own fandom's claims that BG3 is somehow "the new standard" for RPGs. His answer was much more humble and realistic, that BG3 is *not* some new standard any more than all the other "new standards" people have been proclaiming for years.

Towards the end he said something along the lines of: "whatever choices the player makes, we have you covered in the game." I really liked hearing that, even though I still remain very skeptical. My preferences are such that the choices I'd want to make within the game are sure to be severe outliers. Will the game "have me covered" despite my choices and preferences being outliers? That's what I'm still very unsure of, but Swen went a long way in this interview to give me at least a modicum of hope.

Some interesting things, especially the haircut one. I personally think it has to be Shadowheart, since I have an easier time to connect her hairstyle to her faith than Lae'zels to her patriotism. And I am still convinced those two things are those characters point of crisis.

Also, I want to refund my purchase, since I can not trust a man who leaves his headphones tangled. >_<

Swen said in one playthrough the epilogue was 15 minutes, whereas in an evil playthrough it was only 3 minutes long because they didn't have many friends left.

When he's not in his PR mode, Swen is actually great to listen to, i do believe that at his heart, he just really likes making video games and wants to make something amazing. Also, the youtube thumbnail annoys the hell out of me. I want to NOT watch it just because of how annoying it looks.

Another tidbit, Swen has played the heck out of BG3. Said he's played every scene multiple times.

Hairstyle spoiler:
Some character gets a new hairstyle to reflect a major change in their character because of MC adventure direction. I have a fair idea who.

Ah, yes.
I could see Shadowheart getting that treatment. Nothing says makeover potential like starting with bangs AND a long ponytail
