Hi, i recently encountered this problem where Gale is unable to refresh his spells even after long rest. I tried swapping him out and back with another NPC but it didn't work.

He now essentially can only shoot arrows... How can I restore his character?

I have also tried re-loading games.

I know having armour and weapons, he is not proficient with, equipt can stop him casting spells - maybe it stops him refreashing spells too?

It is the proficiency that is affecting his casting abilities.

Resolved.

I know you resolved it, but I experienced this when I put a helmet on him and it took me a while to figure out what the deal was.
