Anybody know if this is just for player character (Tav) or can everyone in your party get their own illithid power skill tree?

Every party member can use them but not all of them will be thrilled about it...so I'd be careful about asking Lae'zel to use one of those tadpoles...she's more likely to to try to stab you than use it.

I think it's actually just Tav. And by that I mean, ONLY Tav, and not PC Gale, for instance.
Everyone has their own special story thing going on, and Tav's revolves around the tadpole. Astarion about the people he bites, Gale's is about the books he eats, and Durge's about the Urges.

Fear my wrath, for it is great indeed.

I really don't think that's what this says: "The deeper you go through the illithid skill tree, the more powers you'll discover. But nothing comes without cost. While your companions can also consume parasites to gain their powers, not everyone in your party will agree to it, and your companions' perception of you can undergo a significant shift based on how you approach this opportunity."

Yeah, I'm pretty sure any origin can use them, and maybe some or even all of the companions, although I doubt the hirelings will have the option... but who knows? We'll see.

Also, we know the Dark Urge gets it because of Fextralife's playthrough while he was in Ghent during the press/creator event.

While I hope it's not the only thing Tavs have going for them, I think the tadpole skill tree is a decent unique thing. The other origins can get new power still but they could be fixed based on character, while Tavs get the branching choices.

Companions have the exact same illithid power layout as the player character...here in this gif posted by PlayStation you can see Gale's brain layout for illithid upgrades and he's not the player character because you can also see the party has a dragonborn in it.
