I read your review, Grim - without knowing it was yours, of course - and thought it was quite good.
When I first started playing BD (even during the demo), I had a funny feeling there would be 2 camps of players: Those who would love the game and those who would not like it at all. So far, that seems to be the case (although that doesn't apply to everyone). And I think that has to do with BD's diversity. People who like the Diablo-style part of BD will probably find there isn't as much or enough action. Which is probably a real let down for some. Then again, there may be some players who were expecting more freedom to explore the world without being obligated to complete some of the quests. At any rate, I enjoyed reading everyone's opinion at EB's site.
One poster in here (can't remember their name) made a good point when <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> was first released. They said it was a much better [game] experience the minute they stopped comparing it to DD and other games. That's when I decided to try and do the same. And as hard as that is to do sometimes, I think it has enhanced my game play in a positive manner.
