I am finding it pretty hard once I get a few levels in a Martial Class where it feels like itself to not go 2 levels into fighter for the Fighting Style and Action Surge. But I am worried that may may make me a creature of the moment, as I am not really sure what I'd be giving up end game at levels 11 and 12 other than the feat.

Just look at what high level abilities are available for the class. You'll be giving up an ASI/feat, but that might not be a big deal for you.

The ranger is trash at high levels, for example, and there's absolutely no reason to take that class to level 12.

With how Larian is handling the D&D rules I expect every build will benefit from getting 2 levels of fighter added. So lets look at Sorcerer, get to level 5 or 6 for Fireball, add 2 levels of Fighter for action surge and they using sorcerer points can do 3 Fireballs in a round to really nova. What does the Sorcerer lose, one ASI/Feat, level 6 spells, 2 sorcerer points.

Was just reading up on barbarians earlier and looks like they get an extra charge of Rage at 12th level. Might be useful since barbs don't get access to Persistent Rage in bg3 as far as I know. Just not sure if it outweighs how good Action Surge is aha
