I respec'd Lae'zel and Karlach to redistriblte their stat points and in both cases their hit point were fine at level 1 BUT when leveling up (to 2 and 3 and 4) their hit points were incorrect.
Lae'zel gets 9 per level, no more, no less. Exactly 3x her CON (16) bonus. no d10 apparently.
Karlach gets 10 per level, no more, no less. Apparently ho CON (16) bonus.

I think they combine the hp. In dnd 5e rulings it is as follows lets take a fighter which has a 1d10 every lvl up + Con or a base value of 6 + Con. Try raise the Con to a plus 4 and it should be 10 hp per lvl.
