Having a selection of party members to choose from is great (though I'm hoping for even more in DLC) but having to go back to camp and go through the same dialogue dance every time just to swap one out is a real pain.

For example, I finally recruited Karlach (should have done it sooner, didn't realise she was a party member) but I already had a full party, and there's a camp of baddies nearby that she wants to wipe out with your help. But because there's no way to send someone else to camp, she goes there automatically and I have to go to the camp, pick someone else to leave behind, go through their usual dialogue about being unhappy at being left behind, and yes I'm f'ing sure just like the last 5 times, and only then can I go to Karlach, add her to my party, and complete the quest that's 10 feet up the road from where I found her.

We really need a menu for quick-swapping party members; it shouldn't be too hard to add this to the party management menu (the one for switching characters, grouping/splitting the party etc.), just let us select a portrait and hit a button to swap then show the other available characters so I can sub them in. It might make sense to also add a similar menu whenever recruiting someone while your party is already full, i.e- give us the option to replace an existing party member with the new one.

That said, what I would love even more is the ability to have a larger party; my actual D&D groups are usually 5 or 6 player characters. It would require the game to scale the difficulty though (give enemies more HP the more party members there are) but this could also be good for going the opposite way, e.g- if a player wants to run with fewer characters, or even solo, that should be possible too (scale enemy difficulties down a bit, though it should still be tough due to action economy).

This has been requested a number of times during Early Access, and I agree that it would be great to be able to accept a new recruit and send an existing party member to camp rather than have the new recruit go to camp and have to go collect them.

As well as to be able to swap around party members more easily in camp and access everyone's inventories while there.

Personally I'm happy with a party size of four, though many people aren't. We have a massive long thread about this at https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=672266#Post672266.

4 party members has always been a huge gripe I have with a lot of these games, so you normally want a healer and a trapper, thats 2 slots taken up leaving you with just 2 others.

I was thinking it was a shame that there isn't a ranger companion because I really prefer using ranger for sleight of hand and perception, then I remembered Minsc is in the game but hes meant to be strength based, it would seem wrong to repec him to dex & wis based :x

So I know what to do with the ranger mercenary at least.

It should be like Dragon Age: Origins. Instead of having to run through dialogs at camp to change party, just have a party screen to pick and choose when leaving camp.

It is crazy annoying that you can't access everyone's inventory in camp.

I can understand your wish.

In the same time, i think that i appreciate this "limitation", in the sense that it brings an other reason to go to the camp and make this place important.

Like, you know, it's like these games where you have a "house" but you never have reasons and motivations to go there and "use" it.

In my opinion, the more reasons we have to go to these kind of places, the more we want to go there... and it is a little plus for immersion in the world.

In my opinion. smile
