There could be a space for us to just create characters and save them. I think that as people are playing a lot online, and with the creation of new saves all the time, there could be an option for us to create and save characters for use in our campaigns and with friends.

100%. It's not even so much a suggestion as feedback on an oversight. Larian has their Origin characters. So why isn't there a section underneath labeled "Homebrew" or "Local Characters"? At the same time, add in the ability to add up to three of these characters for the start of a single player run. It's a party adventure game. You should be able to make and start it with a party in solo play, the same as multiplayer.

The request to save/export characters was one made a number of times in early access, though of course it's totally valid to request it again now that it seems we don't have this functionality in full release.

The request for a fully custom party is also one many players have requested, but we have separate threads discussing that such as the one at https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=876159, so I'd recommend the linked thread is used for that topic.

I've updated the title of this thread to specifically refer to saving created characters to hopefully help focus this discussion on that topic where it doesn't overlap with other threads.

It's conspicuous in it's absence, as this was a main feature of Baldur's Gate.

Part of the whole appeal of that game was the idea of a character that could be exported and continue the adventure in a sequel, which we actually got. The tease was even extended from BG2 to NWN, even if that never materialized.

The idea of having a Library of Characters or Hall of Heroes.

Not a savegame profile, but an actual character sheet that you can pull up and look at when you're deciding who to roll. You know, maybe there's even access to inventory or a way to respect based on the adventure or group your joining? Perhaps the character up to whatever level they've achieved in game, can downscale XP from there, to join a group at the appropriate level. Maybe re-kit gear at an amount that's appropriate to the campaign at that point.

Character Creation is almost never a time sink, if it can be handled prior to the actual session. A lot of times it's the most engaging part of the whole game, which is why it's weird that a lot in the character creator feels like it's trying to rush us there. I'd love to see other things that enhance the Char creator with more previews and control over the lighting and the little portrait that's generated from the avatar models selected all that stuff. But being able to export/import a Character comes before all that. So yeah, odd miss there.

I understand, I also wanted a better way to choose the player profile's face, I know there are bugs for those who create "strong" characters and they will soon fix this, I imagine. Let's wait to see what new features they have, however, I believe that at the moment they will focus more on fixing bugs and crashes.
