Larian and WOTC must seriously think about a Baldur's Gate MMORPG.

fully agree regarding any kind of Singleplayer-expansion, even up to some sort of “editor” like in old “Neverwinter Nights” ( so DM can create their own adventures using the Sword-Cost-Setting and implemented DnD-Rules) but regarding MMORPG, hopefully please NEVER EVER…

No they shouldn't, its already been attempted with Dungeons and Dragons Online and that game turned into a shitshow where divine classes refuse to heal because potions exist and whatever else.

Making your own group with people you know is great. Needing to play with randoms has always been attrocious. Theres already a million MUMMORPUHGUHS out there that you can play, we need more focus on great single player games with OPTIONAL multiplayer.

Why is it that whenever something is good in single player, someone always has to suggest that it should be mutated, warped, put in a blender, and served up as a live service where all the things that made it good in single player are totally removed and the setting of the original game merely serves as a shell for the typical GaaS formula?

Oh, but this time the live service crap won't be exploitative nonsense that exists merely to milk players of either a subscription fee, a battle pass, microtransactions, paid "surprise mechanics", or all of the above? This time the devs will focus on making an MMO game purely for the fun factor and totally not be swayed by every single executive-tier person aggressively and loudly ordering them to maximise revenue generating design choices?

If I had an x-button, I'd press it to doubt. Wait a minute, I do have an x-button! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fully agree. The age of MMOs is thankfully waning as it turned out they only produce bland content with reoetitive gameplay which are vastly inferior to single player games.

I'm sure I'll still want more content after I finish the game, but we do already have a recent thread discussing this at https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=875775, plus a number of older threads, so locking this duplicate.

"You may call it 'nonsense' if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"
