So after Hotfix 2, I now can't even launch the freaking game. WTF is going on? I have tried validating files too. This is absolute bs; I can't even play the game I paid for and waited several years for, come on!

If I end up having to uninstall and reinstall, I am going to be absolutely pissed off!

EDIT:

Thanks to user Skyri in another thread, I was able to launch. After jumping through hoops.

You have to close steam entirely, then go to the damn .exe file and launch it directly. A right pain in the ass; but this bypasses steam entirely (which might even be preferable, given steam bootstrapper client uses a stupid amount of resources anyway).

Either way, Larian needs to fix this bull. They are selling the platform on STEAM, so I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to bypass the launcher just to play. What a fine hotfix this was!

I go to my Steam account then right click on BG3 go to manage and then local files open the bin folder and click on BG3_dx11 to lunch the game as a workaround. Hope this helps.
E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin is the location of my game, your drive letter might be different.

Yep, it did. Another topic, a user Skyri posted the same thing, and that was the only way I could do it--HOWEVER, if I have steam open *at all* this won't work. idk what Larian did, but they screwed up launching from Steam. RIP all us steam users, I suppose.

Silver lining, I guess I figured out how to not have to have steam open when I want to play the game, and maybe eke out a bit of a performance boost I suppose.

You don't have to 'jump through hoops' - just create a desktop shortcut to the exe.

So I just found out launching this way does NOT load the delux edition DLC stuff, which infuriates me. At this point, Larian can just refund me, this is bullshit.
