I mostly play game for stories, I do not like much challenge. While i technically CAN do it, I just do not want waste my time and energy.

Now, this game proved to be challenging even in story-mode. At least if you play with mindlessly built party, like mine was laugh

Though I didn't plan to play with such a party. I was just trying to avoid spoilers as much as I can, of any kind. Well, this time it resulted in me missing Lae'zel, Wyll and Karlach from my camp, despite I've planned to have at least Lae'zel and Karlach (just from the trailers).

Thus I've ended playing about 16 hours with just Astarion, Shadowheart and Gale, while my main (custom) character is a Wizard just like Gale. This was really challenging, especially when I decided to wipe out goblins (Minthara included) and duergars. I did this, but I surely didn't like the effort it took. Of course later I would take this half-ork hireling paladin to a more challenging battles (still think he is stronger than any other "real" companion), but I still felt my party was seriously lacking.

This changed a lot when I (at last) had Wyll and Karlach joined my party, though Wyll still wasn't up to my expectations.

And after 25 hours of playtime I now have Lae'zel, my party being Wizard, Karlach and Lae'zel as tanks and killing machines and Shadowheart for support. Not the best combo as I don't feel Shadowheart quite belongs in it, but I can now play as I usually do - relaxed, confident to explore anywhere and enjoying the story smile

All in all, do not play without a tank/strong close-combat warrior, if you do not like too much challenge. This game WILL require some effort from you if you neglect party building, even on the "easiest" level.
