I did not touch the game for half a year, waiting for release. Back then I knew when to rest to get what banter and how to progress the story, now, with all the major changes, it feels very new (exciting!) but also very chaotic.

What I mean is, that there was a massive amount of companion interactions during the resting and outside the camp with a lot of cutscenes. Now nothing like that "mirror" scene with Gale is happening but a brief dialogue at best. Also, big scenes like Rafael's appearance happen outside the camp. In addition, I am getting companions story updates that kind of should not be there, like information about Shadowheart being afraid of the wolves with supporting dialogue, while we have not encountered any wolves yet.

I feel like I am missing out on a big part of the story. Can someone knowledgeable help and answer two questions:

1. Is there some specific order you have to follow to keep the relations progress coherent?

2. How often the group should rest now to get all the camp interactions?

I feel like Raphael would still show up in camp, just not as quickly as in EA, and the bridge scene is just to ensure it happens.

I'm not sure about one. I didn't notice number one happening, but I've only had the mirror Gale scene show up once in three Act 1 release playthroughs.

As for the second, I believe the game design is that you'll burn through all of your abilities in each encounter, and therefore you'll probably be long resting after 2-3 fights. Problem I've found is that (on normal) I can burn through so much of any given dungeon or location that I don't need to rest and I think going long time between rests leaves things likely to break or be missed.
