Yeah I personally do not like that familiars now require short rests. but with Scratch in particular it really is done poorly and needs some optimizing. He also regularly gets stuck whenever he keeps sniffing for treasure, so have to wait ages for him to lose the sniffing condition.
In Early Access I always took a Familiar for my Ranger, but after full release I just decided not to bother. It's annoying having them out only to die immediately as soon as someone looks in their general direction
