At the moment i am at act 3 and all my party mebers reached lvl. 12. But my quest log is full of quests i am loosing the motivation of playing the game to the end. Instead focusing on genitals Larian should have increased the max level. The story is infantile (do prefer more simple but deep storys like those Shakespeare wrote) and the game did the same mistakes Bioware did with DA:O. I am hoarding companions in my camp i do not like and the game forces me to talk with them. They are standing by their tents and wating until i speak with them. In general the game feels more like DA than BG although Larian is trying to surpass the story of BG 1 SPOILER: you have to fight against three goods of dead instead only Bhaal. This is too much and too confusing. The romances are infantile and poor too like they were in DA. Ther is no challange compared to BG 2.
The fights are ok (much less fire and acid surfaces than in DOS2). Compared to PF:WotR the battles feel too long although you got only four members in your party. Furthermore in PF:WotR there is more cooperation between your party during a battle because of some feats (like outflank).
Many things a do not like are caused by the D&D 5e rule set. But in the D&D rules the attributes seems to be capped what i like because in PF:WotR you can increase them to infinty. On the other hand creating and leveling you character has become very poor. There is not much to do and very few feats compared to D&D 3.5 and PF. Larian tried to companesate this by creating weapons wich give you further "feats" you get if you equip the weapons. There are also necklaces and rings which gives you spells. So every companion can cast spells now. Maybe Larian did this because you can only have four companions. It would be much better if you could have five or six companions with you. The graphics are great and the maps are large and well crafted. So BG 3 - in my opionion - is a good game but not as good as the hype promised me.
