So you'd think she would keep her box which she totally doesn't want to show you to herself, right?
Is it intentional that the thing gets moved to my inventory once I move her out of my party?

Yes. It's important we have it, so the explanation given is "it has a will of it's own".

Shadowheart will only present her box if you go the romance route.

The connection to SH really goes nowhere at all, not sure why they attached it to her that strongly.

Without spoiling, knowing what's in the box from Act 2, is there seriously no elaboration on why the Sharrans want it? It's not exactly something that Shar would have much use for. Just a yes or no will do.

Up to my point? No. It's simply "powerful beings want the powerful thing"

Really should call it "The Artifact" or "Shadowhearts Artifact". Phrasing people! *snicker*
