My spouse (Player 2) and I (Player 1) have been playing split-screen couch co-op. We spent quite a lot of time creating our characters and learning how the character creation works. We were almost finished when my spouse's controller battery ran out. His side of the screen disappeared and when he came back, after replacing the batteries, and turned the controller back on, his character was gone and he had the initial character creation screen again. He then had to start his character all over again, which, when you've spent a really long time perfecting to your liking, is incredibly annoying.
