What are some specific things that Larian did in BG3 that you would want to see more of in future titles from Larian?

(This is a thread for what you want more of in the future, not things you didn’t like, as that would belong in suggestions and feedback.)

Edit:
To those of you who read the prompt, thank you.
To those of you who did not: [Zerubbabel disapproves]

Edit 2:
Changed prompt to be clearer.

Honestly, I just want more of this. I really like DOS2, but I prefer the more structured class system of D&D to free form class building, and I really enjoy 5Es action economy.

I don’t think Larian will do a traditional expansion, but I do hope that one of the three smaller projects they are working on next utilizes the license and assets make another small D&D game.

Hm....I'm pretty happy with how BG3 turned out. I haven't seen the ending though.

But for now, the one thing that every game lack....is a Good fucking Summoner or Necro class!

Let me bring a Hoarde of Undead and Conquer the World! MUAHAHAHA

*Ahem* yeah that! Lol

I know some class have summon. I've got Shadow Heart already with 2, she can either make a skeleton or a zombie + A weapon lvl 3.

Urgh...But I wanna see a HOARDE!

Too bad I can't mod to save my life, because I totally would laugh

I like how your actions have consequences and the story. I would love, if Larian or any other gaming company (who doesn't think BG3 and Elden Ring are anomalies) would give us more of that.

Only thing I could want is just more companions with more varied personality types. More fun on the "good" conversation options too. All the fun stuff is evil, doesn't seem to be a lot of dark/morbid humor that isn't taken literally.

Specifically if compared to previous Larian productions?

- The production value is obviously improved to a massive degree.
- D&D isn't a peerless gem of a ruleset, but it's still lightyears better than the malformed thing that was at the core of DOS 1 and 2. No armor system, in particular.
- I'm so damn glad that this one got unique and hand-placed itemization. rather than randomized loot. Randomized itemization is something that can single handedly turn me off from enjoying an entire game, especially when done as poorly as it was in DOS.
- Companions actually interact with each other in BG3 rather than act like only the protagonist exists.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

* Music composition, orchestration and sound design in general
* choosing DND over D:OS2 mechanics
* NPCs to remember

Right, more like more Buthir and Grukkoh, and allow the player character to join in!

What wouldn't I want more of....but here are my top five features:

*Locations that feel real, with an authentic mood to them. I could list this 10 times and it wouldn't be enough to capture my appreciation. The locations in this game are outstanding.
*Trait-dependent dialogue and reactivity. A feature as old as Fallout, but few games get this right since it's a great deal of work and can get quite complicated.
*Meaningful companion character development and companion stories.
*Lots of choices for making characters that all feel and look different.
*A great variety in combat encounters. I'm not usually a fan of combat in RPGs, because it tends to become a chore after a while, but in this game it's actually interesting most of the time.

Still in Act 1 but fuck all so far. Nothing I've seen is unique to Larian, quite the contrary, most of the stuff has been done better in other games and then there's Larian's homebrew stuff.
Character Creation pants - same 12 or so heads popping up all over the world.
No random encounters or respawns.
Poor selection of companions who each have a stat spread a ten year old could improve on.
Aesthetics are nice but nothing amazing and the graphics certainly benefit from the use of a reshade.

I'm already really struggling to generate any interest in the game and now the footie season has started . . .

So why not just stop if you don’t like it?

I'll keep to positive since that's the point of this thread:

- world design
- sheer amount of builds possible
- I actually like how they've adapted DND (don't hate me lol)
- Cinematic dialogue for main story (don't like it for random npcs in the street, feels pointless)
- variety in how you can approach situations (for the most part)
- Connection to previous BG games for the most part is well done and doesn't disrespect the IP.
