I found Volo, freed him and told him to wait for me at the camp.
He said he would, but he never showed up at camp.
The quest is still active and it says to meet him at my camp.

This should be fixed asap as I assume the quest will be lost once we move to the next act.

P.S.
According to the people on steam, the problem is that the cutscenes overwrite each other.
So if there was a cutscene waiting for you before you freed Volo, it overwrote the one where Volo was supposed to come and Volo never comes again.

I don't want to give advice to the developers, but this seems like a huge design flaw to me...

Same problem, Quest says meet him in camp, he never comes. I am Too far into the game to load an old save and I really want the chest / eye surgery.

Please hotfix.

I did some tests.
For now, the only way to spawn Volo is to long rest before you open his cage, and after opening the cage you must immediately go to camp.

How many long rests did you take after the rescuing?
For me all was perfect, the scenes spawned ione after another with a long rest each.

You don't have to long rest after you free him.
Just go to camp after you open cage and he will be there.

But you MUST long rest before you open cage.

Thanks but doesn't help me. I am long past that and hoping for a hotfix before I start act 2.

My Volo did return to camp. Then my game crashed, and when I did it the second time (doing nothing different or extra the second time) he bugged and never returned to camp. I didn't think much of it at the time but now it kinda sucks he never showed.

patch 4, no fix.

So is there a console command or anything of the sort to force progress this quest?
