I put the armor on Gale (after the medium armor feet).
The hover over AC shows 12 from Armour +4 from Barkskin +2 from Dexterity, but the total shows as 16 (not 18).

I felt that the 16 was "too good to be true" so I'm not too hurt by it, but it's not correct.

Yes, the tooltip is incorrect and the 16 AC is correct. I know that has been a bug since EA as I remember reporting it. Hopefully it's still somewhere on Larian's list to fix!
