Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Can't decide

I know I've posted about this before but it really bugs me. I'm collecting all sorts of charms but not enough good equipment to put them in. And when I find better un-charmable equipment I feel bad about wasting the charms. What do the rest of you do to counter this? Thanks.

I don't charm an item unless it has either 3 or 4 slots and I am putting in gold charms. That way I know that I will probably use the item until the end of the game. So basically I have been just starting to put in charms in Act 3.

Up until the time I start putting in charms I collect all the 3 and 4 slot items I can find, then select the best one and start charming it. I also keep the 2nd best of each piece of gear as a backup in case I change my mind.

I hold onto the charms because I hate wasting them in gear I won't use for the rest of the game.

As the final enemy sinks into oblivion and the ending sequence nears I think to myself "oh crap - wasted another set of 20 charms by never using them at all".

Unless you need the cash you might as well use them when you have them, because you will get that perfect piece of equipment that is worthy of them so close to the end that it won't make a difference - there is a lot less fighting in act 4 than in earlier acts.

The moment I have equipment I can charm I put charms in it, I didn't do it the first time I played and had 40 charms over when the game was finished <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm in the treasure cave in Act II, and I have two saved games there. One is where I got a better bow for my survivor, the other is where I got a better sword for my warrior. I can't pick which one to use. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

if it were me, i'd 'better' the 'weaker' character.
there are TONS of great bows and swords. you'll find more.
whichever you choose, it probably won't be your last......
