Hi everyone, the game still doesnt run for me,

when I start it, all I get is a blank 640x480 screen, which stays until I press enter, at which point I am thrown back to my desktop. Once, only once, the game loaded for some strange reason, when I had it set to 640x480, which is unacceptable on a 21" screen and a 3500+ AMD.. anyway, I couldn't reproduce it.

Here's everything I tried:

BD v1.45 english version, patch installed fine.
I tried all FSAA modes and no fog, to no avail.
I tried all resolutions.
I tried setting my desktop to 1024x768x16 and start the game in this resolution.
I had my 2nd monitor (TV) disabled the whole time.
I have no AntiVir or spyware running and ended all non-essential processes, including my Logitech iTouch driver, cFos DSL driver, Spam Filter proxy server (POPFile)
I naturally have the latest ATI drivers installed and can run every other game without problems, including UT2k4, Painkiller, Ground Control II Demo, NFS Underground, Unreal II, Far Cry, Sacred
I get by the copy protection just fine (no errors ever and it did start once after all)

my system:
AMD 3500+
Abit NF7 Mobo
Onboard sound
512 MB RAM (Corsair XMS PC400 CL2)
ATI Radeon 9500 Pro
Windows XP Pro + SP1
Beyond Divinity v1.45

the demo ran absolutely flawlessly and didnt crash once.

what else can I try? I don't want to make empty threats about how I am going to return it, as I REALLY just want to play it...

Is your screen blank from the moment you double click the icon to start the game?

Or do you get the copy protection check first then the screens goes blank?

No loading screens of any kind first?

the first thing that happens after the cd check is the intro movie that would run at 640x480 res. If it's crashing while trying to run this movie then that could be the problem.

Go into the directory of the game, not sure of the exact location but you'll find the movie intro and acts movies in there. Can you run them without a crash?

I'm not a techhy but I generally fix my problems by the process of elimination. IE. if a, b and c don't work, then answer must be d.

...oh and when you said you have 2 monitors do you mean both hooked up to you PC?
If so rather than just disabling the connect how about severing it completely just to see if there's a problem there.

Any help?

it really was the intro movie.
I had the reclock filter (http://ogo.nerim.net/reclockfilter/) i had installed. disabling it made the intro movie play just fine.

Thanks for all the input guys
