This has only occured in Act 3 and specifically only for the Lower City map. Playing multiplayer for the rest of the game and for outside of Baldur's gate has been smooth.

My computer is the host computer and my wife is the 'guest account'.
Loading into Lower City will occationally (more often than not) cause my wife's characters to load in T-posed, her minimap blacked out, and her character will just glide around unable to interact with anything.
If we then try to waypoint out of Lower City she'll get a black screen and my game will fail to load until her game has fully crashed out to desktop.
While this is happening there is nothing wrong going on with my computer at all.
Graphics drivers (NVIDIA) are all up to date, we've tried dropping my wifes graphic setting all to low, taken off Vsync, nothing running in the background etc etc and nothing has changed.

If we get lucky enough for it to load in normally, if we enter a cellar and then go through a door to go back to the Lower City we're gambling again and the game might T-Pose crash.
I've read around that the Lower City is causing a lot of issues for other people as well, even just in single player, so I'm hoping it's on Larians radar.
We can't really progress the story anymore because of how frequent this issue happens. Considering that everything else to this point has been crash free I have to assume there is something going on on Larians side.

Probably just typing into the wind here but really hoping Larian will look into this or someone has some idea of what I can do.
This has been game of the century for us up until this point.

For what it's worth, having the same issue at the same point. Did you ever find a way to fix it?

Looking around, this seems to happen (to me at least) near Baldur's Press. Having someone take me to camp and THEN loading in goes perfectly fine, and I can load into Baldur's Gate from camp instantly without any issues. It's just trying to load for the first time directly into the city that causes an issue.

We're having exactly the same isssues. I don't have any problems on my side entering the lower city as host.
But in my partners game it is more or less gambling if her client loads correctly or fails with T-pose and missing UI elements / crashes or freezes in loadscreen at mostly every time 100%.
Restarting the games mosst times does not change anything. The only thing i had seen working sometimes ist leaving lower city, joining correctly again, and travel again.
But that is same gambling again, so that we are forced to stop right now in hope patch 1 can fix this maybe

Yeah it's a real hassle. We've not found any actually good fixes. frown It's really slogging/frustrating the run, but all we can do is go elsewhere then zone in and coin flip whether it works.

Hey! You inspired me. Every time I've seen this bug talked about it's always the person NOT hosting that has an issue. I got the host to send me the files, and it works fine. I can zone in and out without any issues at all, now. My only guess is the non-host client can't download the assets from the host fast enough, and there's a window where it stops trying. Either way, give it a shot! I hope it fixes it for you, too.

Hey Xurtan, which files are you talking about?
So what files / what paths did you get from the host? would try that aswell, maybe that helps for a general solution or workaround for now.

Sorry, I should have specified. The most recent save file from the host, should be an LSV file and a WebP screenshot. They go here, or the equivalent: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\Savegames\Story - In my case my host just zipped the save, tossed it into Discord, and then I unzipped it there and loaded the game on my end, effectively swapping who was hosting.

Ugh, why didn't I have this idea myself laugh
First tests look promising - no T-poses, no loading errors.

Tomorrow i can tell more when we test around in act 3 and try to go on.

For Larian and everyone else could be interesting if your PC is the "slower" one, or not. Here in our case my partners computer is running on an i5 6600k which did not make any problems before, but my cpu is an i9 9900k so at least regarding processing power my computer is the much faster host.
so for anyone, if you try it in your personal setting, maybe try to switch the hosting computer to the slowest / weakest processor - just as an idea.

My internet is better, but her computer is definitely faster. We're slower to save/zone now, but we can actually both play and not have to deal with weird t-posing or zones not loading period, so overall a win. Glad it sounds like it looks promising! Hope it helps others.

Hi, I'm also having the same issue, is there any update on how to fix this problem?

Experiencing the same issue, and also using a PC w/ i5 6600k to join the host's game. Things seem to have gotten worse after patch 3.

We've having similar issues, with my gf having troubles even entering the Lower City through any door/portal, many assets not loading properly, the game locking up, and if she can see models, they're stuck in T-posing before everything locks up before she inevitably crashes.

It's extremely frustrating, and makes Act 3 almost unplayable. The only way we've found to sort-of work around it is for me to enter the Lower City first, then we switch characters via the multiplayer menu, which *usually* allows her to load in properly.

It is plain to me that Act 3, especially once past Rivington, is simply not finished. The sheer amount of broken flags/triggers, the complete dump in interactivity/dialogue choices, and so on and so forth showcases that Act 3 is simply not finished and the game should not have been released in this state. We're even on the same bloody LAN network, we shouldn't be having these kinds of issues.
