Is there any worthwhile content if you play as the origin character? Or is it basically the same story as you would get having them as companions? Let's say I saw both endings of the Shadowheart quest, when she was a part of my party, would there be a lot new to see if I pick her origin? Any new NPC's, cutscenes, choices?

I believe there are some unique but minor dialogue choices and I've heard player Karlach has a unique ending but, for the most part, it appears the real unique elements (narration and unique dream visitor sequences) were all cut.

DU has additional content (+2 cutscenes a?t 1 and 2) And a bit more in act 3. After DU I won't be playing Tav anymore.
