Hey, I don't know if any of you guys remember me coming in late-game on Divine or not but I am back to ask this question. =P

I want the game, but from what I have read about it the reviewers complained about bugs....broken skills and battlefields being really buggy and the game being unpolished being my major concerns. I loved Divine...but I don't know if this game will be worth spending some of the few hard-earned dollars I have on. Maybe I should just play through Divine again and maybe eventually get Beyond?

Or maybe just not get it all together...even though I want to play it...but see I got in the World of Warcraft beta and as soon as they come out with the new patch to that I might get pulled away from playing Beyond. =/

I am sure that I would LIKE the game, but that isnt what I am worried about....there just isn't enough time to do EVERYTHING you want, you know?

And maybe the Larian boards arent the place to go for a non biased answer, but here I am anyway because I havent posted here in a while.

Anyway, comments?

I find it weird coming to the game's OFFICIAL forum and asking if you should buy the game, but that's me.

The average score for Beyind Divinity on GameRankings is 78% which means it's a good game. Everything higher than 70% is worth getting, then again...

If you feel you're REALLY into RPGs, I believe it's unquestionable that you should buy the game. If you are unsure, try the demo. If you're alright with the controls and the innovations, go on.

Most of the bugs are fixed in the latest patch. Lockpick is still broke, but unlike DD there is not much use for it anyway. If you tried / liked the BD demo, get the game; if you liked something else better, get that first / instead.

BTW, I did recognize your nic. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Well like I said, I have no doubt it is fun, but my question was given my current financial situation (I will have extra money for possibly one game now, but probably not another one for a while) and the situation with the bugs I heard about and stuff, I was wondering if it was worth getting the game NOW or should I wait or just play through Divine again or something...basically. And plus I will have World of Warcraft to play, so ya....I guess what I am basically asking is not if it is good, but is it a classic, "must have now" kind of a game? (in its current condition)

And see I played a little bit of the demo, but for some reason I thought something about moving around seemed really off...and plus the voice acting was horrible, but I was really happy when I heard they were delaying the game to fix it so it isnt a huge problem anymore. =D

Also how replayable is this game? It sounds like they tried to make it more replayable than Divine, what with the battlefields and all.

Anyway make no mistake about it, this game will stay on my wish list until I have it...not only is it the sequal to a game I really enjoyed, but also I feel the need to support Larian since they seem to be a good company, however not very well known. =[

Divine Divinity was one of those games that was really good, but nobody knew about.

And also I remember you too Raze, my savior! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Without you I wouldnt have been able to proceed past the starting town without crashing. =D

If you have to ask, then I don't think it qualifies as a must have game for you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Movement and control is better in the full game, but I'm not sure how much of that was changes in the game and how much was just getting used to BD.

So far I have ignored the BF except for the traders, so that doesn't effect replayability for me. The first act is linear, but starts to open up a bit towards the end with more quests and traders. Since the acts are separate it doesn't reach quite the level of openness DD had, but overall I'd say it is at least as replayable as DD. I have not finished yet, but have made note of a few things I'd like to try differently the next time around.
