I just created an account and this is my very first post in this forum, and I'm really hoping someone at Larian read this and takes it into consideration.
[Also, english is not my first language and I'm dyslexic, sorry about any mistakes]
First, let me say, this game is really something else, amazing story, so many choices, and really good gameplay. I finished my first run with around 98 hours [a little short, but I'll explain the reason for that later] and enjoyed it immensely...
Up until the very end. After the whole big battle at the end, all my companions are gathered and things start to feel very strange from there:
Only Gale [who was my romance] and Jaheira [whom I barely played with] have anything to say, and they both suggest a little "party" to commemorate our victory, and that's it.
Suddenly Astarion
goes off running because he's frying under the sun,
and nobody says a damn thing.
Then the scene cuts to Karlach,
because her engine is about to explode,
which is okay, but is so awkwardly placed cause everyone is there but, again,
no one said anything. Then another cut, my Tav and Gale are in some random place and
he asks my Tav to marry him
, but it's so weird because they are like standing 2 meters apart and barely moving, there is no hug or kiss or even a hand hold.
Then the credits...
So I, thinking that maybe the epilogue was going to happen after the credits, waited...
And I got nothing.
[There is that one scene with Whiters, which is good and fine, but that's not what I'm talking about it.]
I really have to ask,
what happened to the end of the game?I can understand the game having bugs and crashes, cause that is a thing out of the control of the devs, but that "ending" was a choice,
HOW???I'm going to be very sincere here, I was furious when the game went back to the title screen.
All the good, bad, sad and funny moments I had with this game meant NOTHING in the end.
What happened to the many NPCs I helped during the whole game?
Are they even alive? And my companions, what will they do now that the big threat is over?
And that "party" that Gale and Jaheira suggested? Why is that even there if there's nothing???
I could rant here for days, but that's not the point, what I really want is for BG3 to be the best game ever and for every person that plays the game to feel accomplished and happy with their journey and specially
the end of that journey.I know creating whole new scenes with motion capture and new voice acting would be very costly and maybe even impossible at this stage, but maybe a party like the one after the Grove would be the next best thing to an epilogue.
And if that's not possible, something like the end of The Witcher 3, with still images and the narrator saying what happened after.
And if even that is not possible, something like the endgame cards in Fire Emblem.
Man, I'm begging to the gods that someone at Larian reads this and change the post-endgame, because I can't accept a game SO GOOD like BG3 to have an end like this.
[I'm sorry, I finished the game 3 days ago and I'm still so angry about everything]
Now, about my only 98 hours of gameplay, everything was fine until the battle in the Moonrise Tower [end of Act 2].
Before that, my game was running fine, mostly high graphical setting with most of the post-processing turned off [personal preference], the FPS were going strong between 50 and 60s [I limited my FPS to 60]
From that battle forward, Jesus, if I was getting 15 FPS, it was too much...
I lowered the settings and resolution, upped my graphics card's performance but even then, the game was running poorly.
So I end up not spending much time playing Act 3, doing mostly only the major quests and not exploring a lot. [I didn't even go the circus because of that, sad]
Also bugs, of the little I played of Act 3, damn the bugs were strong there. I reported the more game-breaking ones to Larian already, so that's that.
But that dip in performance in Act 3 is REALLY something, if I wasn't enjoying the game so much, I would have stopped playing the game right and given up.
Well, I rambled a lot, but I hope I got my point across even with the language barrier and everything else.
And again, sorry about any misspellings and grammar murders XD
Also, much success to Larian and I hope you guys get the GOTY this year~
