This makes me glad that there is a ending somewhere in the games files, but it also makes me upset that they decided to launch their game without an ending. Maybe they did'nt think the game would garner a lot of attention, but I hope they will patch everything in real sooner rather than later.
It's especially damning since they moved the release date up when they should have been delaying it. Even if there's eventually going to be a real ending, many players will play their first playthrough of the game without experiencing it and that's a real bummer.
I wonder why this got cut. Seems like it'd resolve a lot of the complaints that the ending felt incomplete or inadequate.
It will alleviate some complaints about not knowing how our companions fare after the ending. What it won't fix is the fact that there's basically only 2 (3 if you're generous) ending variations in an RPG that is predicated on player choice.
