I apologize, I’m not super familiar with how to properly ask questions that might involve spoilers and I don’t know how to do spoiler tags, so SPOILERS possible from here on out.

I just finished the Githyanki Crèche. I got in, I went straight to the infirmary, proceeded straight to the inquisitor, got into a fight, talked with the queen, made a big decision (trusting dream people ftw! Hopefully…). Came back, found and retrieved a cool weapon, then fought my way out.
Then when doing a long rest, everyone is talking about how the place would be rubble if it wasn’t for us, that the githyanki should be thankful, but doubtful about their gratitude… and I’m thinking, well, we kind of just slaughtered them all, so what would they have to be thankful for? But I get the idea the place was supposed to implode like in old action movies once the goal has been achieved? But I didn’t see ANY indications of that from my interactions with people and the environment as we went through. So it seems like my characters have more knowledge of and are reaction to a situation I don’t even know about…
There’s been a couple other times where I felt like, as a player, I actually had less knowledge than the characters I was controlling. Like a prompt would come up for an option in dialogue that I have no idea where it came from, but it obviously is the right answer to advance the story…
Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just super unobservant and I should have seen these things as I went along?
