Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Act 4:2nd summoning test;stuck,(Spoilers!)

I'm on the 2nd summoning test to get the book of summoning. I know where the book is, but I can't get down to the next r/h side of the next dungeon level where the book is. I know nixfix has the key and I've killed the monster (quest log confirms), but I still can't get the damned key off his grubby little mitts. Taxlehix is no help either!

Somebody please help as I have come this far, I dont want to have to start all over again......Cheers!!!

You have to go and talk to the raanaar to find out what exactly happened to the book. Specifically, you need to talk to student Dotharhar. Then go back and talk to both nixfix and taxlehix.

I didn't have to the last time i completed this. I killed the monster the imp wanted killed, he gave me the key, then i went down and cleared the next level before doing the first summoning test let alone the 2nd one.

If I remember correctly, the key you get for killing the monsters is for nixfix' chest, not for the entry to the lower levels.
Anyway, in a previous version I never even had the key and I somehow managed to open one of the locked doors downstairs to get to the dead imp. I guess sometimes there's a problem when the game doesn't recognize just which keys you have (I also opened up the wooden box a long time before I got the key to it, so...). For me, in the latest patch this didn't work anymore.
