Is there any way to blow up yhe forge ? the smith sayd if something opens the whole citadel would be under lava

You have to get
a) a barrel of coal from fergus (torturer) room
b) a barrel of salt from the citadel kitchen
c) sulphur from the gay medic's room

Mix a&b together, add c to the mixture and you get explosives.
Drag these over the lava flow and voilà: explosion

Before you do this though be sure that you have done what you have to do in Act 1 because after the explosion you go to Act 2 and you will not be able to go back to Act 1.

Nope, no explosion cut scene, but you enter Act 2.

I never found the barrel of coal or the barrel of sulphor. I've been back and searched both the locations where they are supposed to be but they aren't there. I did get the barrel of salt OK.

Has anyone come across any alternative locations for them?

Barrel of coal is not named "barrel of coal" it's just named coal. It's in a barrel though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
The same with sulphur, although this looks like a little bowl with a spoon on it. It's on a table on the northern side of the medic's office.
I don't believe they show up when you press the alt key, you really have to hoover your cursor above them.
