Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Corrupted saves in Shadow-curse lands. 60% load then CTD

Tearing my hair our over CTDs at the moment. I missed the entire HF4 saga. Before this saves were still on HF3. On Saturday August 19 I started Steam, game updated normally to (redeployed) HF4, so latest version. Spent 11 hours of gaming without a hiccup. Progressed to the beginning of Act 2 in Shadow-cursed lands, alternating between that location and the Creche quests. All saves made in Shadow-cursed regions, including 3 Quicks, 1 Auto and 1 Manual (I deliberately limited the number and frequency of saves in settings). Note that my game is vanilla. No mods. Steam Cloud and Cross-platform saving are both ENABLED.

Sunday August 20 started again. Now all of those save I have above are corrupted, all in the Shadow-cursed lands waypoints or nearby. Loading up to 60 percent then crash to desktop. Tried all tricks in the book to no avail (verify files integrity, delete caches, delete settings in App Data folders, even reinstalling from scratch, disabling cross saves and Steam cloud, switching between DX11 and Vulkan). Please assist Larian. I’m happy to start over but the risk of save corruption just makes an otherwise awesome game so tiring.

I’m running on an RTX 3080, latest Geforce drivers if that helps.

HI there, just checking that you've also reported this issue directly to Larian? The "Report a bug" link along the top of the launcher will take you to the right place on their support site.

These forums are great for seeing if other players have the same issue or have found a workaround, but to make sure Larian are aware of the problem and that it's properly logged and tracked, reporting it to their support team is the way to go.

Thanks for the reminder.I have now submitted a bug report directoy on Larian website. I have heard of similar crashes and corrupted saves in this specific region hence this post was made. Each time I had a crash to desktop loading those saves (after each and every attempt to fix the issue using recoomended methods) I submitted a crash log report to Larian as well whenever prompted immediately after.

Oh Please, let me know if u get a solution for this :c I also submitted a bug, but its so fkn tiring man... Can do everything else on the map, but as soon as I want to enter or teleport into the shadow cursed lands, it just fails....
