With all the stuff there is to loot and collect in the game it's nice to be able to use; pouches, bags, backpacks, chests, etc. to organize your inventory.

It would be awesome if you could take, for example, a generic backpack or pouch, and rename it to something like; potions, throwables, scrolls, jewelry, etc. (using same UI as used to create custom map markers)
then you could add a rule for what type of loot would automatically store to said container, like; potions, throwables, scrolls, jewelry, etc.
(maybe once a container has been named and given rules, it could have the same orange outline around it that the alchemy bag, and camp supplies pack have, to signify that is a special auto-sort container)

Also adding a quiver that auto-sorts/stashes all the different types of arrows into it, to the inventory, would be awesome.

This would keep your inventory more tidy, and help you organize all the different types of items you have, without having to spend as much time sorting through everything.

Very much agreed. And this is a frequent request. I made a post on this general topic earlier. (Post which should receive an update, hopefully some time this week.)

People keep coming up with new and convolute ways to "make containers more useful", but frankly I would vastly prefer if we could just get a better inventory in general and less need to rely on sub-containers.

- better auto-sorting options that refresh in real-time
- better and more practical filters that don't need to be picked from a drop-down menu
- items destined to be wares being automatically flagged as such
- ideally even an unified inventory with the encumbrance being the sum of the entire party, rather than separate bags, in the same way both Pathfinder games and POE2 already "solved" this design challenge. It's not even clear what's the point of separate bags when everyone can share everything even in combat.
- ...and as a personal preference I'd prefer if each character had a series of quickslots for consumable and throwable accessible in combat, rather than being able to access the entire inventory (companions included) at any given time

P.S. before someone comes up with the "But multiplayer!" Rebuttal, let me stress that you could STILL have inventories being separated "by player" rather than "by character" (i.e. If I'm playing co-op controlling Tav, Shadowheart and Gale my inventory would be the sum of these three, while my co-op partner would have an inventory that is the sum of, say, Tav2, Lae'Zel and Astarion).

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

Not sure why this hasn't been done already... of all the stuff they could do to help with the inventory management mini-game, giving us bags we can name seems like fairly low hanging fruit.

Throwing my voice behind this suggestion too! And while I'd LOVE for stuff to auto-sort (and auto-stack) in bags, I recognize that might be asking too much. So just being able to rename the bags would help.
