Hello everyone, this is my review of the game. Took me 18 days to complete and that's with counting about 12 hours per day sometimes 16 hours.
First, running through the first 6 levels for my characters wasn't that hard since I've been playing on and off for 6 years... I have always run the same characters, myself as a wizard, shadowheart, asterion and lae'zel. Now I've always tried to lean toward the good side in all actions but as like most humans sometimes a little evil is necessary towards those who are always evil.
Such as, shadowheart leaving her old leader there to me to kill or let go, she died and deserved it.
Now I could complain about all the things I didn't like but I will stay away from the story line as it's a story and we all have opinions, they're like noses we all have one, you can pick your own but you can't pick mine.
I however did not like the shove it in your face woke agenda taking over my game life, get the F@#$ away dudes... I have good friends who are gay and they are good people, they don't try to shout from the roof tops they are gay... it's their personal lives. So how about next time you people make a game you back off with the total disregard for other people, the non inclusion of straight people by gay people is ridiculous... After seeing what happen to Bud Light, has the term "go woke, go broke" not sank in yet? How about Disney? How you think their stockholders feel losing half their money? This crap is absurd and in the end 15-20 years from now you're going to regret the in your face BS you pushed right now... Get out of my gaming world. I highly doubt BG3 will get a return from it's investment for this sole reason. FYI: ten times as many gamer's are straight then not... clueless Dev's. I'm not even sure the percentage of BG3 players who are gay people passes 3%, now many more really don't care either way but more then 60-70% of your players do not like the constant bash in the face woke agenda. Go woke, go broke... your financial loss. And don't even whine about my use of the word Gay, it's the respectful term from those of us who don't care what you are, straight or gay.
Now as for the programming, do you guys even have spellcheck on your computers active? dozens of spelling errors throughout the game... I understand a little leeway for writer flare but seriously it's "or" not "our" its "vigor not vigour" (unless I say it with a French accent)
The travelers chest at camp! Come on dudes! I said this a dozen times 5+ years ago, it's a simple windows design... have a "save as last opened" option, have it so you can open it wider! and have the damn spot to grab and pull open wider BIGGER not the size of a flea.
Bringing things from camp you don't need, to vendors to sell just so you can buy things you do need. Could you have made it any more annoying and difficult? On top of the accessing the travelers chest issues once you have that chest packed transferring items to sell, first you need to down a hill giant potion otherwise you are going to be making a half dozen trips back and forth to camp.
Next you spread the characters out at camp and anytime you change characters the one you were just on walks back to their spot a quarter mile away, then the chest closes!!! omg... sigh back to the get the chest opened up large enough window to scroll through and find the gear you want to sell off. Do you dev's even play the game not in God Mode? with endless gold and never needed to sell anything, did you ever play the game like a player would and see how difficult it is??? Serious question here, did you do your job? Obviously not.
How about putting the items I sell to a vendor into the buy back list and not the "All" list cluttering up the vendors list with dozens of plate mail, long swords, daggers...
I understand the lack of funds per vendor, that's acceptable... how about a few more vendors earlier on in the game.
As for those bags for alchemy materials, the don't work right... I could have a bag and transfer from one character to another and the items don't go into the bag like they are supposed to. Then I couldn't seem to hold shift and select multiple items to drag into the bag... need some serious work on manipulating those bags. My solution in the end was go to camp, gather all 5 bags each with varied amounts of items onto one character do all the potion making I needed to do then transfer all 5 bags back to camp chest... yes 5 because Gale decided to leave camp because he didn't feel included and left me his bags. Well duh they only gave us 4 character slots unlike earlier versions of game with 6... I'm playing the wizard here dude... suck it up Gale. I needed one of each, fighter, thief, cleric and ME the wizard... I'd have taken you along if I could have two wizards.
BTW: Key bags don't work same as alchemy bags... do you dev's ever play the game like you weren't in God Mode? How do you ever know what the player experience will be like if you don't "Play like you were a player" not like a Dev!
Oh and I swear I walked and searched everywhere I could not find a way into Baldur to get to Asterion's Vampire lord... I suppose I missed a secret door somewhere in the sewers or lower city, but you can't get into Baldur itself and that's WHERE the Vampire lords house is!!! Sigh... I will scroll back through my saved games and search some more.
As for the ending... I was seriously disappointed. The End. plumph... your done... huh what? Are you kidding!?? I wanted to go kill that Vampire dude now that I saved the city! Nope... oh and Lae'zel flying off on the dragons, huh? what? No "where can I find you" (for when the expansion comes out?) Or how about we come along for the ride? Adventure? You guys seriously could have left me in Baldur to finish the unfinished quest lines...
And last I checked my characters were up around 60,000 XP we got 12th level around 15,000 so umm dudes... when expansion comes out I better be starting at at least level 14... keep this in mind as I will certainly be writing another review if and when an expansion comes out...
In my opinion all in all, BG3 is a great game... minus the woke agenda BS. (and go ahead and delete this post because you can't accept anyone who doesn't believe what you do... inclusive my arse <--- omg how does that not pass spellcheck? its a word!)
Anyways, maybe I will play again from start, I doubt it though... I didn't care for the other character classes.
If I do recommend the game to anyone it will come with a disclaimer, beware the woke agenda pushed by the company.
Sincerely,
Sabe... Wizard.
