Okay, I know this is really tiny but I'm trying to save my bigger thoughts for when I've actually finished the game at least once.

In Act 3, in the storage area of Sorcerous Sundrires there's ...

... a genie in a lamp. Touching the lamp causes the character to go inside it, and lets the genie escape, leaving the character who touched it trapped.

I thought this was a really fun challenge, which is why it kind of bugged me that things I tried to get free didn't work.

My first attempt was to knock the genie unconscious before he could escape in the hope that I could then force him to swap places again (I assumed the being touching the lamp had to be alive). But once he was knocked out that was it, and I couldn't throw or drop his unconscious form onto the lamp.

So then I had the bright idea of using telekinesis, which did work to move the genie onto the lamp. I really thought that should have worked, but either the rules of the lamp are that the person needs to touch it intentionally, or the devs simply hadn't thought to code for this.

Then I had Gale summon an elemental and try to get that to interact with the lamp, though I felt a bit bad trying to abandon the poor thing in there to save myself. But it wouldn't interact with the lamp. I realise this is probably just to do with how summons can and can't interact with items more generally, but again I felt it should have worked.

In the end, I managed to escape by ...

... sending Wyll into the lamp and have him summon one of Mizora's cambions that then popped him out (I didn't feel so bad about leaving them there).

Did anyone find a different way to solve this problem? Did anyone else try something different they thought should have worked but didn't?

That is strange, because I actually did use an elemental summon like you did and it worked just fine. I'm not a fan of that encounter for how awkward and specific a challenge it is. It feels too easy to just end up out of luck and stuck in there.

Probably an oversight. Making him touch the lamp should work

Huh! Weird ...

... the elementals I summon don't have the option to interact with the lamp. Or did you summon the elemental from inside the lamp, like I did the cambion? That does work, I just decided to use the cambion for that experiment given I felt less bad about abandoning it in the lamp!

Personally, I am still a fan of this little side quest, but would like it more if there were alternative ways of solving it so there would be less chance of getting stuck.

Get your summons to drag and drop the lamp. Or you could throw it I guess. That will activate the switching places.
