This has bugged me none stop for the entire game, but the straw that broke the camels back just occurred right here. I am on my second playthrough in the Mountain pass, and I got ambushed by 2 death shepherds, a ghast, and 6 ghouls. As you can imagine, I am running a party that mostly uses slashing/ martial team. I reloaded and made a merc caster to burn them down. Here is the tldr: the shephard's revived each other EIGHT TIMES, and the 60 health ghoul 10 times EACH. I brought the caster, and tried to burn down their hp [resistances make this rough], but you got to save your slots for counter spell to prevent them from raising them. Even doing this, they kept revving, and revving, and reviving, and reviving.

THIS SAME BUG was in EA with the mephits. WE TOLD YOU TO FIX IT, AND YOU DID BUT ITS BACK ON FULL RELEASE WITH VENGENCE. This fight is harder then a CR 28 encounters i make in my pathfinder campaign, where I gave a boss 6 counts of legendary resistance on a Ancient Remorhaz meant for a full level 20 party of 6. I suppose giving a boss an ability use counter was to much to program right? just like all of the missing content, this does not get past Q/A. I am severely disappointed.

You have two options here, bring the sheperds to low HP so you can kill them in same turn or split them far apart so that they can not reach each other for the revive.
Yeah, I found that infinite revive to be a bit annoying, but I'd rather have some challenging fights that require specialized solutions than every fight being a knife-through-butter breezefest.

Dude, use your brain... I saw them revive each other once and then just killed both at the same time. You see an enemys HP. You know what damage your characters can deal. If you couldnt win this battle, thats on you dude.

I did win the battle, I am not saying it's a challenge. What I am saying is that is bad game design. It killed me on my first attempt not out of skill or even rng. It beat me as I tried to thinking as a DM would. These enemies can revive no more then 3 times. Even legendary creatures like tiamat or baphomet only get 2-3 uses of a skill. A lvl 6 enemy casting the equivalent of true resurrection at infinitum is stupid

I played through this (in Tactician) dozens of gameplay-hours ago but I can't really say i remember it being particularly troubling/challenging nor having to go through DOZENS of resurrections.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

It was a very bizarre mechanic, just raising eachother with full HP it genuinely took me off guard the first time I encountered them. Kinda sad this was the ONLY time in the game this was used.

You could just pick up the body as well if you have a strong character.

If you have casters this fight is a joke. You can whipe them of the face of the planet with 2 fireballs. That is not a question. It's more of a mechanical oopsies on larians bad design notebook. Shows how little play testing was done.

The res ability those shepherds have is a cantrip so yes they can use it infinitely. Easy solution, kill them both at the same time.

I think its a great mechanic because it made for a huge challenge the first time I fought it.
