Encountered a bug in the quest to in act 2.

After triggering the quest by Halsin walked off to the lake shore.

I then left the area, going to the and .

Upon returning, Halsin is no longer there. He can still be found at the act 2 camp.

Redditors have found a workaround ( https://old.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/162yqd5/halsin_not_at_lake_shore_bug/ ) but it doesn't work for me. The subject refuses to talk to his killer.

Try having a party member who was not present for the murder talk to him. Or you can have someone cast Disguise Self.

Ideally you should have the Amulet of Lost Voices so that you can have someone else cast the spell. If you sold it, you might be able to travel back to act 1 and buy it back.

this quest is so goddamn bugged right now and has been for months. its sad larian put all this amazing work into making the game, but wont put it into fixing it. I am currently on this quest, no work around works. he's just not at the lake shore no matter what i try.

I had this problem as well. I transported to back to an area in Act I after meeting Isobel and because I wanted to clear up some other quests, but when I came back Haslin wasn't there no matter what I did. Had to reload and just do his quest to get it over

(I made an account for this,lol) You just need to follow Halsin to the shore right after he leaves, this works fine and there is a dope battle to go through
