As great fan of D&D, Forgotten Realms, original Baldurs Gate's and Larian studios, loving this game is pretty much no brainer for me.
And without no question the game is perfection .... but .... but ...
You know when there is that one little nagging thorn in your side, that one "but...."
The romances are this thorn for me. And perhaps they would not be if I just turned them off somehow, or if Larian did not make them such important part of the game... but I did not , and it is important...
For me both Karlach and Shadowheart romances are bugged, and for some reason game thinks I am in relation with Gale, no matter what say or, do.
Both Shadowheart and Karlach are maxed out with their standing, and all their quests are done by the book. But the romances simply does not trigger.
I wasted many hours trying all that is possible to complete these romances. Even started act 2 again and lost 6 hours of progress, just to see if I can somehow salvage the game. But noting works...
So now I am here with this fantastic game - that have certain important quests, that I am missing and will never see completed. And this leaves super bad taste in my mouth....
Even if Larian one day repairs these quests, I will not go back and replay 20-30 hours of game just to see these completed. The game is just to frigging huge for me to replay it when Larian fixes it one day...
It will be forever a RPG game that was broken, and that I did not manage to 100% because of bugs.
And that , no matter how good the rest of the game is, leaves very bad aftertaste. If game would be 10/10 for me, this easily reduces it to 7/10 even less.
Shame really ...
