Diluted Oil of Sharpness doesn't do what it should (Bludgeoning, Slashing or Piercing Resistance is ignored for your weapon, gaining +1 on Attack Rolls and Damage Rolls.). Not ignoring resistances.

In BG3, there is resistance to ordinary weapons, and then there is resistance to magical weapons. Make sure your target doesn't have both.

When you apply this oil, your weapon become magical (whatewer, it already was in my case), according to tooltip in weapon's description after applying oil, so no attack with this oil can be counted as NON magical. The target (Bernard (at Arcane Tower) or death shepherds in example) has resistance to both normal and magical attacks and the damage still cut in half and tooltip says -N (resistance).
