Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems can't get past the configuration window

For some reason I get this message "Unable to read configuration file- Exiting"

This is after I have installed it and tryed to run it, when the configuration window appears I cant press the apply and close button (it is gray). I run the test, wait for 10 sec or more and nothing happends so I bring forwards the task manager and close the testing prosses, then I close the configuration window and the message pops up. Anyone able to tell me what the problem could be? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />
I got windows xp pro os
AMD athlon 2600xp
256ddr ram
radon 7500
and a MSI k7n2 delta mother board.

If you check the 'skip test' box then hit 'test' and 'apply and close' can you get into the game? The configuration program has a problem with the Direct3D test with some Radeon cards/drivers.

If skipping the test doesn't help, some people had a similar problem in Beyond Divinity due to a DivX movie player associating itself with .div files.
