Can we please get better camera controls. being able to hold a button and rotate left right is great, but why not up down also? I hate how the zoom in, zooms in and pans up. Can i just get a zoom thats allows me to look down? Add a free cam mode please and thank you? sometimes i just want to be able to zoom in and look at me whats on the ground near my character.

You can use the roller on your mouse.

It would be really nice if they stole a couple of camera mechanics from other games

The ability to change camera elevation like in Sims would be great (even if it was a simple raise/lower the camera in 3m increments), and a free look mode, like in Zelda when you hit C-up to get a better view of the area.

Or they could just let you pivot the camera up/down by holding middle mouse button.

It boggles my mind why they would choose to do this. There are many times when I try to jump to a higher elevation but can't simply because the camera refuses to move up. I actually got my entire party stuck in a secret room because they all failed a perception check and couldn't see the lever to open a wall, and the only way out was to jump back... which all of my characters could, if only the camera would allow it!

It would also be nice to like... look around and see the world Larian created in BG3 XD without limitations.

Hi guys !
I actually have a request : I'm on PC, couch-coop. It's too bad the split-screen is activated while the two characters are very close to each other.
I used to play Divitiny original sin (on console) and when the two players are close, the screen is full.

I'd love to see that in BG3, hope, they'll read my request smile

I also request that they allow x/y-axis camera inversion.

I know mods aren't the preferred solution but it feels so much better to not be stuck with weird angles and the inability to use verticality in some situations.

It's non-intrusive:

I've been using that mod for a while now and my blood pressure has gone down considerably.

Good mod, easy to install and remove. Already been updated for Hotfix #5.

The worst part is definitively lack of ability to adjust verticality on the camera, in a game that has so much verticality in the map design.

I really love the camera controls! They make me feel like Steven Spielberg. It feels great to be able to go from helicopter views to near first person perspectives. Camera panning is buttery sweet. I can imagine verticality problems, though. Can't they be resolved by switching to tactical view?
