Hello adventurers,
First of all, I want to apologize for my poor english.
I come here as a last resort to solve an issue with the game, as I have tried everything and haven't received any response beyond an impersonal automated message from Larian's technical support. I understand they might be overwhelmed, but I've been dealing with this problem for a month now, and all the "common" solutions haven't helped me at all.
I'm referring to this link:
https://larian.com/support/faqs/crashes-during-gameplay-pc_61Let me explain the problem,
I start the game, and everything is fine until about an hour or so, approximately, when my screens go black, and the game forces me to restart the PC. Sometimes this happens when there's a portal, explosion, or special effect, but other times it occurs randomly. This only happens in this game; I've played current titles like Diablo, Cyberpunk, Resident Evil 4, and had no issues.
My PC:
-GeForce RTX 3700
-AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core
-16GB RAM
-Windows 10 HomeI've tried everything:
-Updated graphics and Windows drivers
-DirectX and Vulkan
-No mods
-Deleted the "early access" folder
-Lowered graphics settings
-Disabled DPI scaling, used administrator mode, and Windows 8 compatibility mode.
-Verified files on Steam.
-Removed PC overclocking through BIOS.
And many more things that I can't even remember now.I've even taken the PC to a store to identify the issue, and after testing it extensively, the PC is perfect, with no temperature or power supply problems.
These crashes are severe and can't be good for the PC.
I have the Crash Dump, Dxdiag, and the latest save (which I've sent to Larian's technical support), but I've been waiting for a response for about three weeks now.
I analyzed the PC right after a crash with WhoCrashed, and the reason for the crash is:
"DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
Bug check description: This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.
Analysis: This is a typical software problem. Most likely this is caused by a bug in a driver.I've done my own research and it seems like there are more people with the same problem. Patches, like today's, do not solve this.
I've played the game as best as I could, amidst crashes, and the experience has been terrible. I'm torn between disappointment and helplessness due to this issue; for instance, it crashed in the middle of the final cinematic, and I had to finish watching it on YouTube.
I hope that the community here can help me, because Baldur's Gate 3 is a great game to me. I enjoyed it like a child during early access. I'm a Dungeons and Dragons role player, and I want to have a fulfilling experience with this masterpiece.
Thank you very much, everyone.
