are they worthwhile skills to take for a warrior? i'm replaying dd right now as a warrior, i have 3 skills left and i'm not sure whether these are good skills as my previous two chars, both warriors as well, managed without them.

Survivor's Instinct is kind of handy to top off your hit points when you return to base to drop off loot, etc, but is not really necessary. It was pretty much the only healing I required in the wastelands (I had all kinds of restoration potions stored in a chest unused).

If you are doing a lot of summoning, resurrecting or are using scorpion traps, then Aura of guarding will let you take them with you (though with less experience if they get the killing blow).

errr, i was referring to the aura of guarding which is a mage skill that absorbs a certain amount of physical damage, not the aura of command that is in the survivor skill tree. since i haven't used it yet, i was wondering if it really works as it was intended to ingame. that is, does it really help your character and works as it was meant to be, to absorb melee damage?

Oops. I'm a bit <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sleepey.gif" alt="" />

Aura of Guarding is useful as an extra bit of protection. I maxed this with purchased spell books after getting to Ars Magicana and Verdistis, and used it until about 2/3 through the game. Actually, I found Spell Shield more useful, especially against things that did poison damage (the damage would come off the shield, and your character would not jerk around with a greatly reduced offense/defense).
