After running perfectly fine for two weeks since I installed BG3, yesterday's patch ruined things completely (I'm currently in Act 2). Before patch I could easily run the game with Vulkan on Ultra for 12-15 hours straight without any issues whatsoever, but after the patch, my experience is as follows:
- Vulkan: Abysmal performance. I need to set graphics to Low or it becomes literally unplayable .
- DirectX 11: Performance is significantly better - better than pre-patch Vulkan, but consumes more RAM than Vulkan (~3 GB more). The problem is that NPC conversations grinds to a crawl if they drag on for a longer period of time, one conversation froze my entire system completely, forcing a hard reset. If I make it through the conversation though, the performance returns to normal and I can continue playing.
I'm aware that I'm not running the recommended Nvidia driver version for this Proton version, but there were no issues prior to this patch, and I haven't upgraded anything else in my system.
Any suggestions?
